New Delhi, April 28 (Inditop.com) The Lok Sabha was adjourned Wednesday over the alleged phone tapping of a lobbyist and a PR person on the controversial allocation of 2G telecom spectrum.

During zero hour, AIADMK MPs raised the copy of The Pioneer that reported that the Central Bureau Investigation (CBI) has acquired “clinching evidence” against Telecom Minister A. Raja in the “multi-crore 2G spectrum scam”. Earlier, during question hour, they reached near the speaker’s podium demanding the minister’s resignation.

AIADMK leader M. Thampi Durai, referring to the media report, alleged that the 2G spectrum deals by Raja cost an estimated Rs.1,00,000 crore to the exchequer. The MPs belonging to the Left parties and the Janata Dal-United also supported the AIADMK.

The DMK MPs protested against it, which led to a heated exchange between the MPs from AIADMK and the DMK, the two Tamil Nadu parties.

MPs of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) also created a ruckus in the house on the breach of privilege notice given by party Deputy Leader in the Lok Sabha Gopinath Munde and 44 other MPs against Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.

To this, Speaker Meira Kumar said “the matter is under her consideration”.

The BJP gave a breach of privilege notice in the Lok Sabha against Manmohan Singh Tuesday for his remarks outside the house rejecting the need for a joint parliamentary committee (JPC) probe into the phone-tapping and IPL controversies.

As the protest continued in the house, the speaker adjourned the house till 2.00 p.m.
