Bhopal, April 26 (Inditop) Madhya Pradesh Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Narendra Singh Tomar has been booked for allegedly making “personal” remarks against Congress president Sonia Gandhi during an election rally, an official said Sunday.

The District Returning Officer registered the case on a complaint filed by Congress polling agent Ankleshwar Dubey against Tomar.

In his complaint, Dubey charged Tomar of making statement on Afzal’s imprisonment while addressing a rally in favour of BJP candidate Bhupendra Singh in Sagar district on April 15.

Tomar had remarked: “Is Afzal a son-in-law of Congress or Sonia Gandhi? When the Supreme Court had awarded death sentence to him for attack on parliament, then why had the date of execution not been declared?”
