New Delhi, May 16 (Inditop) Congress candidate Mahabal Mishra Saturday dashed the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) hope of winning at least one Lok Sabha seat in the national capital by defeating Jagdish Mukhi with a margin of around 100,000 votes.

Mishra got 479,856 votes, while BJP’s Mukhi got 350,823. Except the Janakpuri assembly segment, Mishra pipped Mukhi in nine assembly – Rajouri Garden, Dwarka, Matiala, Uttam Nagar, Madipur, Hari Nagar, Tilak Nagar, Najafgarh and Vikas Puri.

In the Punjabi-dominated areas of Tilak Nagar and Hari Nagar, Mishra received 7,700 votes, 1,531 more than Mukhi.
