Shimla, Jan 2 (IANS) Senior Congress leader and former minister Mansa Ram Wednesday took oath as pro-tem speaker of the Himachal Pradesh state assembly.

Governor Urmila Singh administered the oath to Mansa Ram at Raj Bhawan here in the presence of Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh and his cabinet colleagues.
Mansa Ram won the assembly elections from the Karsog assembly constituency in Mandi district.
The pro-tem speaker would administer the oath to the newly-elected legislators and also conduct elections of the speaker and the deputy speakers during the first session of the 12th state assembly.
The four-day session has been called at Dharamsala Jan 8.
