New Delhi, May 28 (IANS) Taking a dig at the BJP-led government, Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi on Thursday said Prime Minister Narendra Modi must have taken lessons on how to improve India’s economy from former prime minister Manmohan Singh when the two leaders met on Wednesday.

“Yesterday (Wednesday), Manmohan Singh ji said the state of the country’s economy was bad following which the prime minister (Modi) took classes from our prime minister (Manmohan Singh) for an hour on how to revive the economy,” Gandhi said at a convention of the National Students Union of India (NSUI) here.
Gandhi said Modi must have asked Manmohan Singh what to do and how to run the country.
“May be Manmohan Singh ji told him. I will ask him,” he said.
Manmohan Singh had met Modi on Wednesday evening, just hours after hitting out at the policies of the National Democratic Alliance government.
The former prime minister’s office said in a statement later that the meeting took place following an invitation from Modi and the duo discussed the country’s economic situation and foreign policy issues.
