New Delhi, Sep 5 (IANS) Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the Teachers’ Day function here Friday recalled some of the pranks he played as a child, but extracted a promise from students that they will not repeat the mischiefs.
Responding to a student from Leh if he and his friends indulged in pranks during their school days, Modi said: “Can there be any child who does not play mischief?”
The prime minister said that childhood experiences were very important.
Recalling an instance, Modi said he and his friends would carry tamarind and go to a marriage function where there were shehnai players.
“You know what happens when you see tamarind? Your mouth waters and the same thing used to happen to the shehnai players and they used to chase us out,” Modi said.
Modi then went to narrate another of his pranks.
“We used to go for marriages and quietly staple from behind the clothes of a man and a woman standing next to each other. We ran away after doing so. You can imagine what must have happened then,” Modi said as children laughed and clapped.
Modi also laughed alongside, but took a promise from the students that they would not play such pranks.
