Shimla, July 31 (IANS) After days of moderate to heavy rainfall, the southwest monsoon Thursday entered a period of lull in the hills of Himachal Pradesh with no rain in most of the areas.
“Precipitation occurred at a few places during the past 24 hours (since Wednesday). The maximum temperature increased by two to three degrees, while the minimum increased by one to two degrees,” the local Met Office said.
Mandi town recorded the highest rainfall of 56 mm in the state, while in Dharamsala it was 47 mm.
The state capital recorded 2.8 mm of rain, while it was 13 mm in Chail.
The Met department said some areas in the state would receive light to moderate spell of rain till Aug 4.
