New Delhi, March 18 (IANS) Taking strong objection to Steel Minister Beni Prasad Verma’s allegation that he had links with terrorists, Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Mulayam Singh Yadav Monday demanded his sacking from the cabinet.

“Such a minister should be sacked,” Mulayam Singh told reporters here.
The SP chief said Verma’s comments followed a Muslim convention Mulayam Singh had addressed in Lucknow, where several Muslim religious leaders spoke about the contribution of the community in the service of the nation.
MUlayam Singh said he had fought against injustice to the Muslim community and would always do so.
“We have always fought against injustice. We will not tolerate any atrocities against Muslim community,” Mulayam Singh said.
SP members protested Verma’s remarks in the two houses of parliament Monday.
Verma Saturday stoked a controversy with his reported remarks at a function in Gonda, about 200 km from Lucknow.
