Mumbai, July 8 (Inditop.com) The Maharashtra government Wednesday announced that the Mumbai-Pune Expressway will be named after the late Y.B. Chavan, former deputy prime minister and the state’s first chief minister.
“The contributions of Y.B. Chavan to the development of Maharashtra is unparalleled. This year we are also celebrating the golden jubilee of the state,” an official announcement said.
Reacting to the move, the Shiv Sena demanded that the expressway should be named after the eminent Marathi litterateur late P.L. Deshpande.
