New Delhi, Jan 8 (Inditop.com) The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) Friday did not rule out the possibility of Samajwadi Party (SP) leader Amar Singh joining its ranks, but said it was not the occasion to talk politics.

“We believe in keeping human relations above politics. Mr Amar Singh is unwell. Our party sends him best wishes to see him healthy, fit and fine,” NCP spokesperson D.P. Tripathi told Inditop.

Reacting to the speculation about Amar Singh joining the NCP, he said it was “no occasion to talk politics”.

Asked if he was ruling out the possibility, Tripathi said enigmatically: “Politics is always pregnant with possibilities.”

Amar Singh, who this summer underwent a kidney transplant, resigned from all his posts in the Samajwadi Party Wednesday, citing health reasons. He sent his resignation to party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav through fax from Dubai.

In his remarks later, he expressed frustration at denial of party tickets to candidates recommended by him and said that whoever belonged to the family of party chief Mulayam Yadav was more powerful than him.

The SP chief admitted Thursday for the first time that there were differences between Amar Singh and his cousin Ram Gopal Yadav, a party general secretary. He added that he would talk to Amar Singh after he returned from Dubai.

There has been speculation in political circles about the possibility of Amar Singh joining the NCP.
