New Delhi, June 16 (IANS) The NHRC has issued notice to the Jharkhand government over the killings of 12 people, including four minors, suspected to be Maoists, a statement said on Tuesday.
According to media reports, the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) said the 12 suspected Maoists were killed in a joint operation in Bakoria village on June 9, 2015. Those killed included a teacher, who had apparently received threat from the Maoists.
NHRC member Justice D. Murugesan has issued a notice to the Chief Secretary and Director General of Police of Jharkhand, asking for a detailed report narrating the full sequence of events leading to the killings, within four weeks.
