Mumbai, April 18 (Inditop) Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray Saturday sid MPs from his party will be his representatives acting as the state’s “trustees” in New Delhi.

Thackeray said he would be “personally accountable” for all the deeds and misdeeds of MNS candidates voted to the Lok Sabha.

Releasing the MNS election manifesto here this afternoon, he said that all his MPs would safeguard the interests of the state in New Delhi.

Thackeray warned that anybody insulting Maharashtra or its people would have to face the wrath of its MPs from the state.

Assuring that infrastructure and development projects would be speeded up, Thackeray said “bureaucratic red-tapism and corruption” would be dealt with in the “MNS-style”.

The manifesto said “precautions” must be taken to ensure that the Marathis got priority in recruitments in all the state and central establishments in Maharashtra.

Thackeray also took a dig at Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader L.K. Advani’s statements on slush funds lying abroad.

According to the MNS chief, instead of worrying about the money lying in Swiss and other foreign banks, the BJP should first concentrate on the state of Indian banks.

“They should first pay attention to the condition of the Indian banks before targeting Swiss or foreign banks,” Thackeray said. He was interacting with the media after releasing the MNS manifesto here.

Thackeray reiterated his party’s demand to check the influx of outsiders into Mumbai and check on bogus voters.

“The party will act as a watchdog to save open spaces in the state from becoming dumping grounds of migrants coming to the cities.”

The MNS has put up 12 candidates from the 48 Lok Sabha constitutes in the state. The party manifesto has been published in Marathi and English but not in Hindi.
