New Delhi, April 26 (Inditop.com) Noted historian Govind Chandra Pande was Monday presented with the Padma Shri by a senior bureaucrat as he could not attend the March 31 presentation at Rashtrapati Bhavan on account of personal reasons.

Under the guidelines “the decoration of the award to such awardees, residing at Delhi, who are not able to attend the ceremony, is to be delivered personally by an officer in MHA (ministry of home affairs)”, an official statement said.

Accordingly, the award, which comprises a certificate signed by the president and a medallion were delivered to Pande April 23 at his residence by A.E. Ahmad, secretary (border management) in the home ministry.
