New Delhi, Nov 6 (Inditop.com) Prime Minister Manmohan Singh Friday condoled the death of veteran journalist Prabhash Joshi, describing him as “a man of extraordinary intellectual courage and professional integrity”.
“Joshi was a man of extraordinary intellectual courage and professional integrity. He acquired an iconic status as the founder-editor of the Hindi daily, Jansatta. A whole generation of journalists drew inspiration from him, especially in questioning the current orthodoxy,” Manmohan Singh said in his condolence message.
“In his later years, Joshi worked tirelessly to give voice to the concerns and anxieties of the voiceless and marginalized sections of society. Indian journalism will be so much the poorer for his death.”
Joshi, 72, died following a heart attack here late Thursday. He began his career with “Nai Duniya” and became the founder-editor of leading Hindi daily “Jansatta” in 1983.
