Puducherry, April 16 (Inditop) Seeking election for a second successive term in the Lok Sabha, PMK MP M. Ramadoss, has sought the support of former Puducherry chief minister and Congress stalwart N. Rangasamy.

Ramadoss, whose main fight will be with the Congress candidate – whose name is yet to be announced, was accompanied by PMK legislators and some party functionaries as he went to Rangasamy’s residence here Wednesday.

Having been replaced as chief minister in August last year by V. Vaithilingam, under whose leadership the present ministry was formed in September 2008, Rangasamy is a much sought after leader by various political parties in this union territory.

Considered a key leader of the ruling Congress, Rangaswamy had distanced himself from all party-sponsored programmes since he was removed as chief minister.

V. Narayanasamy, a probable Congress candidate, had met Rangasamy last week, seeking his support for the May 13 polls but nothing has yet been heard from Rangasamy on his strategy.
