Kolkata, Feb 7 (IANS) A high-level Election Commission team that toured West Bengal recently will again come to the poll-bound state to visit its trouble-torn areas, a senior official said Monday.

‘The Election Commission has informed that the high-level team will be visiting several parts of the state between February 8 and 14,’ said West Bengal’s Additional Chief Electoral Officer N.K. Sahana.

National Crime Record Bureau’s Deputy Director Zaki Ahmad, Orissa’s Deputy Inspector General (Special Auxiliary Police) P.S. Ranpise and Andhra Pradesh’s Deputy Inspector General of Police (Intelligence Bureau) B. Shivadhar Reddy are likely to reach city Tuesday while Bihar’s Chief Electoral Officer Sudhir Kumar Rakesh, who will be heading the team is expected to arrive city Wednesday.

The other two members – Jharkhand’s Additional Director General of Police (Law and Order) D.K. Pandey and National Crime Record Bureau’s Joint Director P.R.K. Naidu will join them by Feb 14, Sahana said.

The poll panel so far has not indicated its schedule, he added

It was decided to send the delegation yet again following a memorandum submitted by a delegation of Left MPs which alleged that the team had chosen its itinerary based on complaints lodged by the main opposition Trinamool Congress.

The Left MPs also requested the poll panel to send observers in those areas of the state where, according to them, the Trinamool Congress and the Maoists have unleashed violence.
