Patna, Jan 22 (IANS) After playing a successful innings as a poll strategist, Prashant Kishor is set to be Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s advisor.
“Prashant Kishor has been appointed as advisor to Nitish Kumar,” an official said on Friday.
A formal notification of appointment of Kishor as advisor to Nitish Kumar was issued on Thursday. He will be advisor to the chief minister on policy and implementation of his seven resolves.
Kishor is known as high tech backroom boy and poll strategist of Nitish Kumar.
“Prashant Kishor will enjoy a ministerial rank now,” the official said.
According to the official, state cabinet chaired by Nitish Kumar last Tuesday approved Kishor’s appointment.
“Nitish Kumar had been impressed by his work during the last assembly polls and later as a good strategist,” the official said.
Earlier, Nitish Kumar had appointed a reputed agricultural scientist Mangla Rai as agriculture advisor in the state, and former diplomat Pawan Kumar Verma as cultural advisor.
