Chandigarh, Feb 3 (IANS) Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal was on Wednesday discharged from the PGIMER here following recovery from chest infection.
Badal, 88, was admitted to the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER) on January 23 after he suffered from chest infection and complained of discomfort.
“A team of doctors examined him thoroughly and decided to discharge him from the hospital as his chest infection has almost cleared and he is fine now,” a spokesperson of the Chief Minister’s Office said here.
However, the doctors advised Badal to “refrain from vigorous travelling and exposure to intense cold wave”.
Badal was advised to rest and restrict the visitors who call to enquire about his well being.
The chief minister did not receive visiting French President Francios Hollande and Prime Minister Narendra Modi during their trip to Chandigarh on January 24.
