Panipat, Sep 15 (Inditop.com) The Swarn Shatabdi Express by which Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi was travelling from Ludhiana to New Delhi was stoned by miscreants Tuesday evening near Gharaunda town near Panipat, in Haryana. No one was injured, officials said.
The stoning incident took place between Karnal and Panipat stations around 9.45 p.m. and the window panes of some coaches were damaged.
However, the window panes of Coach No. 3 on which the young Congress leader was travelling were not damaged, said police officials.
The Special Protection Group, guarding the VIP passenger, has ordered the train to skip the scheduled stop at Panipat station.
The police are investigating the incident.
