New Delhi, Jan 30 (IANS) A host of personalities, including Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi, Thursday gathered at the India Gate lawns for a concert to pay homage to Mahatma Gandhi on his death anniversary.
The ‘Sadbhavna’ concert was organised by the Flag Foundation of India.
Gandhi said: “The flag is in my heart.”
Congress leader and foundation president Naveen Jindal said that Mahatma Gandhi embodies change that common people can bring when they get together.
Compered by television personality Annu Kapoor, the programme brought together thousands of people across the country to observe a minute’s silence to honour Mahatma Gandhi, who sacrificed his life for the nation.
Around 20,000 people from all walks of life joined hands to form a human chain and chanted “Raghupati Raghav, Raja Ram” remembering the Father of the Nation and Gandhian values, a release said here.
Renowned Bollywood singer Sunidhi Chauhan also paid tribute to Gandhi by presenting renditions of patriotic songs, the release said.
