Raipur, Sep 30 (Inditop.com) Maoist militancy is a major problem that India faces now and the Congress-led central government should work on an “integrated action plan” to tackle the scourge, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Rajnath Singh said Wednesday.
Singh reached here on a day-long trip to the Maoists infested Chhattisgarh to visit family members of his party’s Lok Sabha MP from Bastar, Baliram Kashyap, whose son was killed by guerrillas late last week.
The BJP leader said: “Kashyap lost his son because he never bowed down to the leftist radicals, despite hailing from a Naxal (Maoist) infested region”.
“Maoist militancy is a major problem and the Congress-led central government should have an integrated action plan, taking all states into confidence; it has already been delayed,” the BJP president told reporters at Raipur’s Mana airport on his arrival.
Singh reached Kashyap’s native village, Pharsagura, in Bastar district in a chopper and consoled the family. Later, he went to see Kashyap at a private hospital in Raipur, where he was admitted after he slipped into a coma Sep 26 on hearing of the death of the youngest of his three sons.
Kashyap’s two sons were attacked by armed guerrillas at a temple Sep 26, some 300 km south of here in Bastar district, in which Tansen, 33, succumbed to bullet injuries and his brother Dinesh was injured.
