New Delhi, April 27 (Inditop.com) The Rajya Sabha adjourned Tuesday as angry opposition members protested against the spiralling prices of essential commodities and the IPL controversy.

The trouble began immediately as the house assembled with members from the Left parties, the Samajwadi Party (SP), and the Rashtriya Janata Dal raising slogans against the price rise.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) members led by Ravi Shankar Prasad reiterated their demand for a Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) probe into the affairs of the Indian Premier League.

Failing to restore order, Chairman Hamid Ansari adjourned the house till noon after barely two minutes.
