New Delhi, April 15 (Inditop.com) Rajya Sabha MPs stood in silence for two minutes to pay homage to the 76 security men killed by Maoists in Chhattisgarh before being adjourned for the second time till 2 p.m. Thursday over demands for a debate on the attack.

After paying tribute to the martyrs, the opposition parties laid by Bharatiya Janata Party leader M. Venkaiah Naidu demanded a debate on the massacre.

Minister of State for Science and Technology informed the house that Home Minister P. Chidambaram will make a statement at 2 p.m in the Rajya Sabha.

“We can have a debate soon after the home minister makes statement,” Chavan added.

The house was then adjourned till 2 p.m.

The April 6 massacre, the biggest Maoist attack in four decades, claimed the lives of 75 Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) troopers and a Chhattisgarh policeman.
