New Delhi, April 1 (IANS) The Delhi government will pay Rs.1 crore to families of policemen and other security personnel killed on duty in the capital, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia announced on Wednesday.

“Any employee of Delhi Police or other armed forces associated with the Delhi government and serving in Delhi will be provided Rs.1 crore compensation if they die on duty,” Sisodia told reporters.
“We will create a separate fund in this connection. The allocation of this fund will also be included in the budget,” he added.
Delhi Police does not fall under the purview of The Delhi government.
Sisodia also announced the setting up of an anti-corruption helpline on April 5 and the strengthening of the Anti-Corruption Branch (ACB) and vigilance department.
“Anti-Corruption Branch to be strengthened, more posts have been created in this connection. Earlier, there were only 30 inspectors, now there will be 40 inspectors,” he said.
Under the Delhi government’s revised plans, Rs.15 crore has been set aside for the ACB and vigilance. It was Rs.8 crore previously.
