Lucknow, April 9 (Inditop.com) In an apparent bid to help minorities, the Samajwadi Party (SP) will launch a statewide campaign to ascertain the various problems plaguing them, a party official said Friday.

“The campaign will start tomorrow (Saturday) and will continue till April 20,” Atta-ur-Rahman, national secretary of the party’s minority cell, told reporters here Friday.

“The objective of the campaign is to bring to the fore the socio-economic problems faced by members of the minority community so that later our party can take measures to solve those problems,” he added.

During the campaign, the party will also evaluate the welfare schemes initiated by the state government for the minority community.

“We are quite sure a number of such schemes exist only on paper or are not being executed the way they should,” said Rahman.

“In this way we would be able to bring the real face of the government before members of the minority community, particularly Muslims,” he added.

Initially, the drive will be launched in eastern districts of Uttar Pradesh and will then extend to other parts of the state.
