Mumbai, May 5 (IANS) K. Sankaranarayanan, who has been given a fresh term as Maharashtra governor by the president, will be sworn-in at a ceremony here Monday.

Bombay High Court Chief Justice Mohit Shah will administer the oath of office to him in the presence of top dignitaries including Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan and Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, an official said Saturday.
A senior Congress leader with several decades of active politics behind him, Sankaranarayan was first appointed as Nagaland governor in Feb 2007, and later made governor of Jharkhand in July 2009.
He was transferred as Maharashtra Governor Jan 22, 2010 and completed his term in February. President Pratibha Patil granted him a fresh term as Maharashtra governor last week.
Hailing from Kerala, Sankaranarayanan has also served as a cabinet minister in various ministries and was the state party president between 1972-1977, besides working as convenor of the United Democratic Front for over 16 years.
