Ranchi, Dec 17 (Inditop.com) A helicopter carrying polling officials had to make an emergency landing in Palamau district of Jharkhand Thursday, police sources said.
“A helicopter carrying polling officials developed some technical snag and landed 100 metres away from airstrip on a farm land in Palamau district. There was some problem in fuel tank of helicopter which was later corrected,” a police source told Inditop.
“All the polling officials and the pilot of the helicopter are safe,” he said.
The fifth and final phase of Jharkhand assembly polls is to be held on Friday. Counting will take place Dec 23.
Six helicopters are being used to ferry polling officials in Maoist-affected areas. Helicopters are also being used for air surveillance in the region.
