Ranchi, Feb 19 (Inditop.com) Jharkhand Chief Minister Shibu Soren Friday removed his personal secretary M.L. Pal after Income Tax (IT) raided his houses three days ago, an official statement said.
The Income Tax department Feb 16 conducted searches at 70 places in 13 Indian cities on properties of some senior officials, including Pal, in connection with the Rs.2,500-crore money laundering scam involving former chief minister Madhu Koda.
According to an IT official, during raid at Pal’s houses in Ranchi and Jamshedpur, documents relating to Rs.65 crore worth of undisclosed assets and investments were seized.
Pal has been associated with Soren for long. He became Soren’s personal secretary when the latter became chief minister in August 2008.
