New Delhi, May 2 (IANS) Samajwadi Party leader Shailendra Kumar Wednesday demanded action against those making derogatory remarks against MPs saying these were lowering dignity of parliament.

Rasing the issue of breach of privilege in the Lok Sabha, Kumar said MPs had been called thieves and rapists.
“The dignity of parliament is being lowered at public rallies,” he said.
Kumar’s remarks came after yoga guru Ramdev said in Chhattisgarh that there were murderers and illiterates among MPs. Ramdev added there were “some good” MPs also.
Without taking names, he said some individuals running NGOs were making indecent remarks about parliament.
Congress MP Jagdambika Pal said he had also given a breah of privelege notice on the issue.
P.C. Chacko, who was in the chair, said breach of privelge notices were under consideration of the speaker. “Please wait for a decision,” he said.
