New Delhi, May 1 (IANS) The Congress Wednesday hit back at Bharatiya Janata Party leader Sushma Swaraj for accusing UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi of instigating her party members to disrupt the opposition leader’s speech in the Lok Sabha.

“Her (Swaraj) allegations are baseless. We reject them. It is an unjustified attack. I am sorry that she made the attack,” Finance Minister P. Chidambaram told reporters.
According to Chidambaram, there was visual proof that Gandhi did not interrupt Sushma Swaraj’s speech in the lower house of parliament Tuesday.
The finance minister said it was sad that leader of opposition in the Lok Sabha had said she would boycott the meetings called by the speaker.
“It is another sad development in democracy,” said Chidambaram.
Information and Broadcasting Minister Manish Tewari said he had the transcript of Swaraj’s speech and it did not indicate any disruption.
