Chennai, Dec 18 (Inditop.com) The Tamil Nadu legislative assembly will convene Jan 6, according to a notification issued by Governor Surjit Singh Barnala Friday.

The session is expected to generate heated debate in the wake of spiralling prices of food items, and the central government’s move on sugarcane pricing and the fisheries bill.

The session will start with the governor’s address, and some policy announcement on the part of the government.

On the first day of the session, the house will condole the death of sitting and former members in the interregnum between two sessions, and the newly elected members from Vandavasi and Tiruchendur will be sworn in.

The business advisory council of the assembly will decide on the agenda for the session.
