Chennai, April 16 (Inditop.com) Five opposition parties in Tamil Nadu led by the AIADMK Friday decided to support the nationwide strike April 27 to protest the government’s economic policies and the spiralling prices of essential commodities.
The decision was taken at a coordination meeting here under the leadership of AIADMK General Secretary J.Jayalalithaa and attended by leaders of the MDMK, Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M), Communist Party of India (CPI) and the All India Forward Bloc, a party leader said.
The leaders also urged traders and trade unions to extend their support to the strike.
