New Delhi, Aug 31 (IANS) Congress spokesperson Manish Tewari, a member of the parliamentary standing committee on law and justice which is examining the Lokpal bill, Wednesday said he was recusing himself from the panel.
‘I have decided to recuse myself from the panel. I want a strong Lokpal Bill,’ Tewari told reporters.
Tewari has been criticised by civil society members for his allegations against Anna Hazare, who fasted for 12 days demanding a strong Lokpal bill. Tewari described the 74-year-old as ‘head to toe involved in corruption’.
