New Delhi, April 21 (Inditop.com) “Thank you…”, tweeted Shashi Tharoor, who quit as minister of state for external affairs over alleged links to the Kochi IPL franchise, to all his supporters after his emotional speech in the Lok Sabha stating that his conscience was clear.

The Congress MP from Thiruvananthapuram, who was forced to resign Sunday , had been missing from the virtual world for a while. But on Tuesday night, after his speech in the Lok Sabha, he was back and made an entry saying: “Thank you for all the kind words on . Means a great deal that so many have reached out to me at this time of trial.”

This was his first appearance on the micro-blogging site twitter in the last five days. His last posting was on April 16, two days before he resigned, when he wrote: “Thanks for all the support &good wishes. U (You) folks are the new India. We will ‘be the change’ we wish to see in our country. But not w’out (without) pain!”

The tech savvy Tharoor’s controversial tweets had often landed him in trouble. But the tweet that cost him his job was not the one from him but from Indian Premier League chairman Lalit Modi who accused Tharoor of stopping him from revealing the names of Kochi franchise.

Tharoor has 726,088 followers to his twitter account – one among them being Lalit Modi. Modi has 74,822 followers, Tharoor included.

Tharoor was accused to be supporting the Kochi team and benefiting through a proxy who was his Dubai-based friend Sunanda Pushkar – a charge both denied.

In his speech in the lower house Tuesday, he said he had done no wrong. He said he did not want to be an embarrassment for the government and waste the parliament’s crucial time with the opposition stalling proceedings.

The website, , has been launched by Tharoor’s loyal supporters lobbying to collect “pledges”. Its message board is being flooded with words of support.
