Dharamsala, March 29 (IANS) A 27-year-old Tibetan who burnt himself in Delhi demanding freedom for Tibet will be cremated here Friday, the hub of the Tibetan government-in-exile.

Police have beefed up security in the town ahead of Tawu Jamphel Yeshi’s cremation.

A mass prayer meeting will be held at the hilltop Tsuglagkhang temple near the official palace of the Dalai Lama Friday morning, a functionary of the Tibetan Youth Congress (TYC) told IANS.

Yeshi, a member of the Tibetan Youth Congress, immolated himself Monday to protest the visit of Chinese President Hu Jintao to India. He died Wednesday.
