Lucknow, April 17 (IANS) Polling in Uttar Pradesh for 11 Lok Sabha seats began Thursday, officials said.
Over 18 million electorate is eligible to vote at 18,910 polling booths. A total of 150 candidates are in the fray.
Nearly 77,000 poll officials have been tasked with the job of holding the polls in the second phase of polling in the state.
Polling in the 80 Lok Sabha constituencies will be completed in six phases, which includes the first phase April 10. The remaining phases are April 17, 24, 30 and May 7 and 12.
The first phase of polling, where balloting took place in 10 Lok Sabha constituencies, saw a voter turnout of 64.96 percent.
