Hyderabad, April 28 (Inditop) Actor-turned-politician Chiranjeevi is confident that his Praja Rajyam Party (PRP) will form the next government in Andhra Pradesh and play a key role in the formation of a Fourth Front government at the centre.

Addressing a news conference here Tuesday, the PRP chief said he was sure that the party would get 160 seats in the 294-member state assembly.

“There was a silent wave in our favour as people wanted a change and they came out in large numbers to vote for PRP. Especially the youths and women have voted for us,” he claimed.

Chiranjeevi ruled out a hung assembly. “There is no question of a hung assembly. We are going to form the government.”

A party needs 147 seats for a simple majority in the assembly.

The superstar was confident that his party would win a sizeable number of Lok Sabha seats. He said he had discussed the formation of a Fourth Front government with Samajwadi Party leader Amar Singh.

The PRP political affairs committee met Tuesday to discuss the polling trends in the just ended elections in the state.

Political analysts say PRP could emerge as a kingmaker in the event of a hung house. Both the Congress and Telugu Desam Party-led Grand Alliance may then woo it.

Simultaneous polling to the 294-member assembly and 42 Lok Sabha seats in the state were held in two phases on April 16 and 23.
