Kolkata, April 17 (IANS) Polling for West Bengal’s four Lok Sabha seats and two state assembly seats began Thursday, officials said.

Voters were seen queuing up at the 7,443 polling stations early in the morning.
Balloting for the Lok Sabha seats and the assembly seats is being held simultaneously.
A total 6,023,258 electorate, including 2,900,024 women, are eligible to vote.
As many as 47 candidates are in the fray for the four Lok Sabha seats.
This is the first round of polling in the state.
Election in West Bengal is being held in five phases – April 17, 24, 30 and May 7 and 12.
