Thiruvananthapuram, Dec 31 (IANS) Weddings are happy occasions, and even more unique if both the bride and the groom are on wheelchairs.

George K. Thomas and Jasmine Issac – both confined to wheelchairs after meeting with road accidents – tied the knot Wednesday at the St. Thomas Malankara Catholic Valiyapally in the Kerala capital, putting the years of sadness behind them as the 2014 receded.
Nine years ago, 32-year-old Thomas, saw life take a cruel turn when his two-wheeler met with an accident, leaving him with spinal injuries, while 28-year-old Issac’s two-wheeler was rammed by a heavy vehicle in Kochi when she was 17, leaving her crippled.
Four years back, a chance meeting between the two at a private hospital, where they went for treatment, led to a friendship.
Love blossomed and the two felt they were made for each other. They informed their parents about their decision.
Their parents agreed and the marriage was solemnised Wednesday, with their friends and relatives all giving them full moral support to begin a new life in the New Year.
