Raipur, March 31 (IANS) BJP leader Saroj Pandey, who was Sunday appointed the chief of the party’s Mahila Morcha (woman front), said she will try to do her best in the new role.
“It’s a challenging responsibility, I will surely do the best to perform for the party and will raise women’s issues more strongly and vigorously,” Pandey, MP from Durg in Chhattisgarh, told IANS over phone.
The 45-year-old Pandey who is known as a seasoned politician in Chhattisgarh, added: “I will surely try to live up to expectations of the party president and each and every cadre of the party.”
Pandey, who holds an M.Sc degree in child development, has seen a considerable rise in politics since 2008 when she was first elected to Chhattisgarh state assembly from Vaishali Nagar seat from her home district Durg.
BJP president Rajnath Singh Sunday announced his much-awaited team to steer the party into the next general elections. His 76-member new team has 12 vice-presidents, 10 general secretaries, 15 secretaries and seven spokespersons, besides a 12-member Central Parliamentary Board, a 19-member Central Election Committee and a five-member Central Disciplinary Committee.
