Shimla, July 30 (IANS) Karnataka Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa, indicted by the Lokayukta for illegal mining in his state, should resign, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Shanta Kumar said here Saturday.
‘Happenings in Karnataka are unfortunate and Yeddyurappa should not let this opportunity go and help prevent further damage to party’s image,’ the Rajya Sabha MP and former Himachal Pradesh chief minister told reporters.
He asked the party to have a new chief minister in Karnataka by taking Yeddyurappa and other state legislators into confidence. Yeddyurappa had earlier said that he will step down Sunday.
