Kolkata, July 31 (IANS) Right-wing Hindu leader Sadhvi Ritambhara Sunday said unlike the US, India was coming under terror attacks repeatedly as it had failed to become alert.
‘There was one terrorist attack in the US in 2001. Since then, they have become very alert. So there have not been any more terror strikes there. But that is not the case with India. And so we repeatedly come under terror attacks,’ Ritambhara told reporters here.
Blaming the politics of ‘appeasement and partycracy’ for the continuing scourge of terrorism in India, she said: ‘There is need for will power. Social consciousness has to be increased. And the dons of terrorism should be brought to book.’
‘There is a lack of will power to contain it. As a result, the country’s security is being put to test,’ she said.
Ritambhara attacked the United Progressive Alliance government for not implementing the capital punishment given to terrorists like Afzal Guru, who was convicted in the December 2001 terror attack on Parliament House.
‘Instead, such people are being treated to ‘biryani’ by the government,’ she said.
Asked about ‘saffron terror’, the leader said: ‘Hindus have always nurtured communal harmony. Such terms should not be used to defame Hindus.’
‘They are not terrorists. If somebody does anything wrong or illegal, country’s courts are there,’ she said.
