Sydney, Sep 12 (DPA) Former Australian captain Mark Viduka, who has had stints with Dinamo Zagreb, Celtic, Leeds, Middlesbrough and Newcastle during the 14 years he played football in Europe, is returning home, his agent announced Saturday.

The 33-year-old, who led Australia to their first World Cup Finals victory with a 3-1 win over Japan in Germany in 2006, had been linked with English clubs Portsmouth, Fulham and West Ham but agent Steve Kutner ruled out another contract in Europe.

It’s not known whether he will be signing with an Australian club.
