Rio de Janeiro, May 10 (Inditop) Brazilian swimmer Felipe Franca has set a new world record in the 50-meter breaststroke clocking 26.89 seconds at a match here.

He Friday beat the previous record of 27.06 seconds by South Africa’s Cameron Van der Burgh on April 18.

The 21-year-old swimmer said he first attempted for the feat last year but failed due to the lack of concentration.
