London, Dec 31 (DPA) Manchester City confirmed that midfielder Stephen Ireland will be out of action for a fortnight after suffering a hamstring injury.
Ireland limped off after 55 minutes of Monday’s 3-0 win away to Wolverhampton Wanderers.
He will miss the FA Cup tie against Middlesbrough Saturday and the first leg of the Carling Cup semi-final against Manchester United on Wednesday.
Manager Roberto Mancini is also without defender Kolo Toure and striker Emmanuel Adebayor, who are at the African Cup of Nations, while defenders Joleon Lescott, Nedum Onuoha and Wayne Bridge are all injured.
Mancini has been linked with a move for Internazionale centre-back Ivan Cordoba.
