New Delhi, Aug 1 (Inditop.com) Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is not in confrontation with International Cricket Council (ICC) on the issue of players’ reservation over the anti-doping norms and will find a mutually acceptable solution, said BCCI president Shashank Manohar.
Manohar said BCCI has conveyed the concerns of the Indian players to the ICC.
A meeting of BCCI working committee has been called in Mumbai Sunday to find a solution to the issue.
“We hope to work out the best possible solution that’s mutually acceptable,” Manohar was quoted as saying by the Cricinfo.
“There is absolutely no confrontation between the BCCI and ICC on the issue and if anyone is trying to convey such a picture, that is wrong. Our players have concerns about the security and privacy aspects regarding certain clauses in the WADA code. We have conveyed these concerns to the ICC and we will sit with them to work out a solution.”
According the to the WADA code, players in the ICC’s international testing pool have to submit details of their whereabouts for the next three months to facilitate effective out-of-competition testing.
There are 11 Indian cricketers in the International Registered Testing Pool of the ICC and they have missed the July 31 deadline for submitting the information.
Sachin Tendulkar, Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Virender Sehwag, who are in the testing pool, are expected to attend a meeting between the ICC and BCCI Sunday to get their concerns addressed.
