New Delhi, Dec 4 (Inditop.com) Railways breathed life into their Ranji Trophy campaign with an emphatic innings and five-run victory over Gujarat on the final day of the Super League match at Valsad Friday.
Railways bowled out Gujarat for 295 in their second innings. The visitors scored 391 in their first innings and packed off Gujarat for just 91.
Resuming at 139/2, still 161 short of an innings defeat, Niraj Patel (102) and Parthiv Patel (52) combined for a 99 run-stand, but Murali Kartik (4-75) broke the partnership dismissing Parthiv.
Suresh Saxena accounted for three batsman, including Niraj.
Railways collected six points from their first victory of the season which took their tally to 10 points in five matches. They are placed fourth in the points table in Group A.
