Chennai, Dec 30 (IANS) An unbeaten 125-run partnership between skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Ravichandran Ashwin took India to a competitive score of 227 for six against Pakistan in their first One-day International at the Chepauk here Sunday.

At one stage, India were in deep trouble with the score on 29 for five but Dhoni (115 not out), Suresh Raina (43) and Ashwin (31 not out) bailed out the hosts.
Pacer Junaid Khan was the pick of the Pakistan bowlers taking four wickets for 43.
