Hamburg, Jan 18 (DPA) Roger Federer of Switzerland took first place in the men’s tennis rankings into the Australian Open which started Monday.
Federer has 10,550 points in the ATP list issued on the day as he bids for his first Melbourne title since 2007.
Spanish rival Rafael Nadal, the defending Australian Open champion, has 9,310 points. The 2008 winner Novak Djokovic of Serbia ranks third with 8,310 points.
