Bangalore, Sep 13 (IANS) Local lad Rahul Bhalla posted a net score of 31 points to win the 0-5 handicap category on day two of the Toyota Karnataka Golf Festival at the Karnataka Golf Association course here Friday.

Attributing his win to the hard work of coach Gaurav Diwan, Bhalla, who was the sole representative in his category, said: “I played excellent golf today. I want to give credit to my coach Gaurav for this win as he has given me many valuable tips in his golf clinics which helped me in winning the game.”
After tying with Krishna Prasad with 35 points in the 6-10 category with 35 points each, Arjun Malik won on a count-back with the score of 19 points against his rival’s 17.
In the 11-15 category, Royal Calcutta Golf Club’s Angad Luthra won amongst his peers with an extremely respectable score of 37 points while Saket Batra scored the same to win in the 16-20 category.
While every winner in each of the five categories (0-5, 6-10, 11-15, 16-20, 21-24), walked away with a Trophy and a Callaway Hybrid, the winning team of Father and Son duo AM Luthra and Angad Luthra, carding a joint score of 70 points, won a couple voucher each for three nights and four days at The Serai Resorts in Chickmanglur, Karnataka.
Around 100 golfers from across the country teed off for a position in the team to represent India at The World Golfers Championships in Durban.
